The New UKAP Remote Controlled Weapon Platform from Katmerciler Now Has a Tracking System

   

The UKAP (Uzaktan Kumandali Atis Platform) was developed as a universal unmanned platform for variety missions, from combat fire support for infantry assault units to logistics, delivering ammunition, water or medicines – perhaps even to ensure the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield.

UKAP is currently offered exclusively to the Turkish armed forces, but the company sees the potential for this robot in the export market, especially given the fact that it can be applied with minimal modifications not only for military tasks. The Anadolu Agency reported that more than 20 Katmerciler UGVs delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces for use during Operation Olive Branch in Efrin, Syria.

The total length of the vehicle is 2 m, a width of 1.8 m and a height of 1 meter. The curb weight is 1.1 tons. it was equipped with the SARP remote controled weapon station from the Turkish company Aselsan, which provides such features as shooting in motion, day and night mode, and automatic tracking of the target. Variants of weapons that can be integrated to this weapon station include a 7.62 or 12.7-mm caliber machine gun, or an automatic 40 mm grenade launcher. The UKAP is controlled via a 10-inch touchscreen LCD control panel and is powered by a hybrid battery/generator engine. Katmerciler says the expected battery life is five hours, while the generator enables eight hours of operation. The unit has a top speed of 25km/h (15mph).

In addition to the defence Industry products such as APC (Armoured Personnel Carriers) and MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected).
