A mysterious creature was discovered with two strange pairs of legs discovered

Nature is full of strange things and the jerboa is a typical example: It has a body like a mouse but has rabbit ears, a pig nose, and long legs like a kangaroo.

Perhaps, at first glance, you will think it is a photoshopped image, because in the world, there is no animal that looks like a Pokemon like that.

Jerboa

According to ScienceAlert , jerboas like to gnaw and live mainly in the deserts of North Africa and northern China.

With special legs, jerboas can run at speeds of 24km/h when threatened by predators. In addition, their super-sensitive hearing from their rabbit ears also helps them avoid being eaten.

According to scientific research, jerboas are quite small, with an average size of 7 – 9cm. Surprisingly, its tail is usually twice as long as its body. Their lifespan is not long, only 2 – 3 years, in no case more than 6 years.

Few people know that jerboa mice were discovered quite late, it was not until 2007 that scientists encountered them in the Gobi desert.

Like most desert animals, jerboas are primarily nocturnal.

To avoid the scorching sun during the day, they hide in their nests until nightfall. It can be said that jerboas are “artists” of tunneling: cool in the summer, dry to avoid floods in the rainy season, always have an emergency escape route if there are predators lurking.

Even though they are small, jerboa are not creatures that live in herds

When they reach adulthood, jerboas move out into their own burrows. Jerboas’ preferred food is plants, but they occasionally eat beetles and other insects.
