I’ve been on this bus two or three times with the same driver, and he always has his dog with him whether he’s asleep or awake. He is a man who clearly considers his dog to be part of his family. On one occasion, a lady got angry because she thought it was unhealthy to have a dog on the bus.

His indignation was evident and he complained openly, hoping the driver would change his mind. However, the driver was not willing to leave his faithful companion at home alone. In a firm but calm voice, he explained that the dog was like his son and that he would not leave him alone that day, or any other day.

The driver’s devotion to his dog is palpable. Every time I see him, the dog seems happy and calm, confident in the safety and company of his owner. This special relationship between the driver and his dog highlights the importance of the bond between humans and animals.
