The 4 meter long crocodile was hung high.
Recently, the Australian online community loudly shared a photo of a saltwater crocodile that was killed and hung high.
This crocodile is about 4 meters long and is compared to a “monster” because of its large size. The person standing next to the crocodile in the photo is too small compared to this “saltwater monster”.
A question many people ask is whether this crocodile was killed illegally or not. In Australia, saltwater crocodiles are protected and can only be killed with permission from the authorities.
In the posted photo, the photographer captioned: “Pulled up this monster from the South Johnstone River.” After the photo was posted and received thousands of shares, the owner had to delete the photo. However, investigators have been informed of the incident and are investigating. They suspect the crocodile was killed illegally.
Senator Bob Katter said he did not care whether the crocodile was illegally killed or not because the species’ population in Queensland was increasing dramatically. For illegal killing of crocodiles, violators will be fined more than 28,000 USD.
Saltwater crocodiles are the world’s largest reptiles, can grow up to 7 meters long and weigh 1.2 tons. They are also the largest animals that hunt on the shore.
