After a long plane trip, more than a hundred kittens and puppies managed to change their lives forever. They had no idea that when they got off the plane they would run to be hugged by mom and dad.
It is an immense joy to know that the dark destiny of some animals changed after being rescued from the streets where they tried to survive by searching the corners of the garbage for a little food.
Many of these animals were victims of mistreatment and abandonment by those who should have been responsible for them and guaranteed them a dignified and happy life.
This story brings us the happy ending of 130 dogs and cats who now have the possibility of knowing a home that showers them with love as they deserve.
They opened the plane door and their new owners were waiting for them.
These animals were rescued by the association The Sato Project , an organization dedicated to collecting dogs that are abandoned and abused in Puerto Rico.
The Sato Project volunteers organized the trip for these hundred dogs and cats, who boarded the plane to make a long trip from the airport in Puerto Rico to New Jersey to meet their new human parents.
Although the main objective of this association is to work to “achieve long-term change on the island through community outreach and neutering, vaccination and microchipping programs ,” they are also responsible for finding families for the animals they rescue.
They deserve to erase their sad past in a home that truly loves them.
And, if they must travel to the United States, then they travel… and this has truly been a flight loaded with many emotions.
This wonderful trip was possible thanks to the collaboration of Wings of Rescue and Greater Good Charities, associations that joined forces to make everything go well.
The rescue centers not only took many of these animals off the streets or overcrowded shelters in Puerto Rico , but they also found adoptive families in New Jersey for most of the furry ones.
They also put some dogs on the plane from the “No Dog Left Behind” program, which reunites pets separated from their owners due to a natural disaster, something that is not always possible.
This great “rescue” changed the fate of 130 animals and freed up space in the island’s shelters so that staff could receive and care for other animals.
“Not all dogs come off the plane immediately ready to be petted and cuddled, many times they need some help. Some have pooped after their long journey and need cleaning.”
The Sato Project, which has told this beautiful story on its social networks , wanted to highlight the work of the volunteers, who are the true heroes of these animals, they have done everything possible to change the lives of hundreds of them.
“Regardless of their condition, our volunteers give each one the love and care they need every step of the way.”
Travel is not always easy for animals and it is very important that they receive the necessary attention when they get off the plane.
The truth is that when the door of this plane opened, a new life full of emotions, hopes and fulfilled dreams awaited these 130 dogs and cats who deserved everything, except to suffer more.
Look at the new life they have now:
It is a wonder to know that there are human beings like that who allow us to regain hope. Every dog and kitten that is hugged by his new parents, for them, has been worth it!
